We are a small UK based guild of friends, however we are looking for mature, casual, social, friendly like-minded players to join us. We’re not too bothered about spec, race, or class, we are more concerned with how you get on with the rest of the guild and our relaxed play style. We’re not going to force you to respec’ either, our concensus is you pay your subscription, so you choose how you play your class or career.
Most of our members are over 25 years of age, so we’re really looking for people over 18 and that have a mature attitude to join us. Mature doesn’t mean uber serious, far from it, our ventrilo server has its fair share of banter and comedy moments.
Play Style
What our guild is about is mentioned in more detail on the Guild Info page, however to summarise. Playing with the Band of Fools is:
- Not pressured
- Fun
- Guaranteed a laugh
- A learning experience
Now don’t get the false impression that by having a laugh it means that we tolerate our players acting like schmucks. We don’t, we’re light hearted yes, but players that act like total idiots all the time, well they’re guaranteed a /gkick.
If you’re looking for a guild that’s into hardcore end game raiding, well you’ve come to the wrong place. If you looking for a guild that screams through dungeons at the speed of light, again this guild is probably not for you. Sorry but we’d rather you be clear on how we play.
Probationary Period
The Band of Fools has a minimum two week probationary period in place for all new recruits (Fools) in all games that we play in. This is beneficial for both sides and it means that you can try us out and see if we’re the guild for you. Likewise we can see how you get on with the rest of the guild. Our friendly, relaxed atmosphere is very important to us and having a probationary period means that we can ensure the Band of Fools’ continues to have this.
Promotion to Joker (member) status will occur once you’ve shown significant contribution to the guild’s activities. It does not automatically occur after your two week probationary period.
World of Warcraft
We’re rather melee DPS heavy at the moment, so any potential fools who are ranged DPS or healers would be good.
Fool time
You can usually find a fool online most week nights from about 20.30 hours UK time (21.30 hours server time) to about 23:00 UK time. Though as the majority of the guild have commitments outside of Azeroth (shocking we know) then there’s no real gameplay pattern as such. Weekends, well Friday and Sunday evenings are our usual log in periods.
