Afternoon people, or should I say fools.
With the majority of summer months behind us and autumn approaching, I'm guessing that many people in the team will be returning to the PC after getting their annual dose of vitamin D from the outside world.
MMOs tend to become ghost towns during the summer as most people want to get out of the house and into the fresh air and sunshine, put with that holidays, Pub beer gardens, music festivals. The PC tends to gather some dust during summer. Whether we here in Britain can claim to have had a summer this year, well that's a different topic of conversation.
So the point of this post? Well I just wanted to gauge the WAR team's thoughts on whether they think they will be returning to slay the forces of Order. Or whether they think their time in WAR has come to a natural close.
I personally have subs running until November and have dipped in and out of the game on a number of occasions. Patch 1.3.1 has seen a lot of changes (see main page) and with server consolidations I did see that the Auction House ingame had a fair amount of stuff on it, so maybe the economy is kick starting. The guild itself has nearly reached rank 16 (99%) and there are a nice few cosmetic changes I've seen too. Like my squig now runs along side my mount (AT LAST!). I do like the RvR and will be interested to see how these two ramps in keeps play out on offence/defence tactics. The zerg mentality however is something I'm not too keen on, I've not played too much of late to determine whether that is still an overriding factor in Open RvR.
I know many of you have raised the issue of instances in WAR and from the ones we've experienced that they've been lacking in some areas. I also know that many of you see the dungeon runs as the part of MMO gaming that Band of Fools does well and is an enjoyable experience.
WAR does offer 6-man dungeons at level 40 and these are group instances rather than the realm instances we've seen so far where everyone on the destruction side can come in. One of the earlier patches has seen to introduce savepoints in the dungeons, so if the group wipes you don't have to start at the beginning again. I'm sure this is for all dungeons now, but I'd have to check.
So let me know what your plans are, if you are refreshed from a long summer break and are ready to hack and slay. Or if you think, "Actually I've not missed it", let me know.
If there is no longer the appetite within the team to continue the WAR adventure then I propose that perhaps BoF's presence is retired from the Warhammer world. If on the other hand you guys are wanting to get back to the WAR following a the summer break. And are chomping at the bit to kill stunties, then I'll gladly continuing being your WAR GL and be more proactive in the guild dungeon runs/event where possible.
If there's stuff you want to see organised within WAR again let me know.
Let me know your thoughts
Cheers
